Translation of Kunj Bihari Aarti :
We perform an āratī of Śrīkrsna, Who is Giridhara, and Who roams in the gardens
We perform an āratī of Śrīkrsna, Who has a garland of vaijayantī flowers in the neck, Who is a child and plays melodious flute, Who has shining hoops in the ears, Who is the dear one of Nanda.
We perform an āratī of Śrīkrsna, Who has a body like clouds, Who has a dark resplendence, Who has Rādhikā shining as a friend, Who is standing inside the creepers and shrubs, Who has dark-tresses of the color of bumble-bee, Who has a forehead mark of kastūrī, Whose glance is like the Moon, Who has an artistic appearance, Who is the dear one of Śyāmā, Who is Giridhara, and Who roams in the gardens.||1||
We perform an āratī of Śrīkrsna, Who has a golden crown of peacock’s feathers, Who is sought-after by the demi-gods for a glance, Who is showered with flowers from the skies, Who is adorned with the sounds of murchanìga¹ and mròdanìga while being with the cow-maids, Who has the immeasurable charming company of Gop Kumari Shri RadhaRani ji.||2||
We perform an āratī of Śrīkrsna, from Whose feet the river Ganìgā appeared — the river which absolves all the dirt within us, the river which when remembered destroys passion, the river which falls and resides inside the matted-tress of Śiva, the river which absolves mud-like sin, The River is just like the shadow of feets of Banavārī.||3||
The white-sand is shining on the banks (of Yamunā), the flutes of Vrundāvana are playing, and there are cows, cow-maids and milkmen everywhere. Lord Krishna is beautifully smiling amidst those in the presence of joyful Moon and Moonlight. The shackles of life are destroyed by having a glance of this scene. We perform an āratī of Śrīkròsònòa, Who destroys the grief of weak, Who is Giridhara, and Who roams in the gardens.||4||
